Here’s how theater helps young people with autism become more flexible. Improvisational theater teaches you to be flexible, embrace mistakes and step into the unknown with confidence. That makes it ideally suited for young people with autism. Here’s how.

The idea was to provide a place for young people with autism to practice social interaction through play. InterActing, founded by Saskia Maas and Pim Donkersloot, teaches young people to deal with unexpected situations in a playful way. Meanwhile, the initiative is popping up in several cities and, in addition to courses and workshops, there is also a traveling show team. A vibrant community, then, with improvisation as the key.
